As a private individual in Sweden, you have the opportunity to benefit from a box-office deduction of 50% on labor costs for household services. This means that you can save money on the working time spent on tasks such as cleaning, gardening, or repairs around your home. It’s important to note that this deduction applies only to the cost of labor and not materials or other expenses. By taking advantage of this tax benefit, you can make your life easier and more affordable while supporting local service providers.

When it comes to home improvement and maintenance services, understanding the difference between ROT and RUT is crucial. ROT stands for Renovation, rebuilding, and extension, which are construction services aimed at improving the structure of your home. On the other hand, RUT refers to household services such as cleaning, gardening, and repairs. It’s important to note that both ROT and RUT fall under the same deduction ceiling. This means that if you have already used up the entire deduction for ROT during the year, you will not be able to make any further deductions for RUT services. In other words, there is a maximum limit on how much you can deduct for these types of services.
